Sodium crystals

A must for green and zero waste cleaning...

...but not to be confused with its little brother baking soda, or with caustic soda

Baking soda and sodium crystals: the differences

Baking soda is obtained from soda crystals in reaction with water and carbon dioxide.
Bicarbonate is softer, much less abrasive than its big brother soda crystals, and it can be used in the preparation of toothpaste, unlike soda crystals.
As for caustic soda, not only is it toxic and can cause severe irritation and burns, it is also very harmful to the environment. It can disturb the fauna and the flora by increasing its pH when in contact with water.

Why use sodium crystals?

Because they neutralize acids, hydrolyze organic matter, descale, dissolve grease and stain.
Effective for cleaning enamel (bathtub, toilet bowl, sink ...), laundry, to soften water, unclog plumbing (organic plug only), clean floors, clean in general (against grease).

How to use sodium crystals?

In my kitchen

Mixed with warm water, it will become your best ally in the most recalcitrant tasks on a gas stove by leaving it to act for about ten minutes, and it will restore the shine to your glasses once rinsed.
Say goodbye to burned pots and pans by lining their bottom with soda crystals, boiling water and 6 hours later they are ready to be cleaned.
A clogged sink? Just pour half a glass of soda crystals down your drain and add hot water.

In my bathroom

It is formidable on tart and limescale, and it is also perfectly suited for cleaning enamel.

In the washing machine

Limescale deposits? If a glass of vinaigre blanc was not enough to solve or at least reduce the problem, your new friends soda crystals will do just that with a handful in the drum before washing the clothes.

For floors, stones devoured by moss, or outdoor woods

The recipe is the same: 1 liter of water and a tablespoon of soda crystals and that's it!
And a little elbow grease can help 🙂

Doing some DIY? Old paint and wallpaper

3 tablespoons of soda crystals in 1 liter of hot water and you're ready to tackle the wallpaper stripping by moistening it with this mixture.
With the same preparation you can strip old paint.

In any case you will have to handle the sodium crystals
with gloves and make sure to keep them out of reach of children.
