Although very widespread in the Anglo-Saxon countries the eggnog, better known under the name of Egg Nogg, the origins of this beverage would actually come from the old continent, from the medieval time when it was called the posset. This drink was based on brewed beer to which was added hot milk with variations where we could find sugar and spices.
Nowadays, eggnog tastes more like a warmed custard in which spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom are infused...in the version reserved for adults, a touch of rum is added. You can keep it in the fridge, just remember to cover it. The eggnog is enjoyed cold or hot.
