Choose your bath sheets in 5 points

1.

Do not neglect the weight

It is the essential in the choice of your bathroom linen!

The grammage is expressed in g /m2 and the higher it is the more absorbent and voluminous your towel will be.
As an example, a 26oz/m² terry cloth can absorb up to 34fl oz of water per square meter.

The minimum of the minimum is 16oz, which is still decent in terms of absorption. But the top of the top turns to a weight above 20oz and more.

2.

The choice of the material

Some materials are softer than others and for some people this is an essential criterion when choosing a towel. But who would blame them for taking this criterion into account!

Some materials are softer than others and for some people this is an essential criterion when choosing a towel. But who would blame them for taking this criterion into account! Cotton terry is the most common.
If it's softness you're looking for, Egyptian cotton or bamboo viscose is the way to go.
When the curls are shaved, you get velvet towels (most often used for beach towels) and depending on the weaving method you will also find chiseled cotton.

Honeycomb towels offer the advantage of being less bulky, therefore less cumbersome, and they keep their appearance new longer. Another advantage is that they dry quickly. In any case it's cotton!

The microfiber towel is made with a synthetic fabric made of much finer fibers than in other textiles. Their composition is usually a mixture of polyester and polyamide, others are composed of nylon and bamboo fiber. Opt for a 50/50 mix for a good quality microfiber. The more polyamide your towel contains the more absorbent it is. The microfiber towel absorbs faster, and it is often recommended for drying hair because you avoid rubbing, a barbaric method often used to dry hair. Your dream mane would rather be wrapped in the towel! It is more compact, dries quickly and does not lint!

Linen is not well known in this field, but it is just as absorbent and is the most natural and ecological. Linen fiber is able to absorb more than 20% of its weight, it is very resistant over time and is lighter than cotton. It can be slipped into a suitcase or a sports bag without any problem because even when wet it is not soaked.

3.

Towel size

To begin, let's review the different sizes and names of towels

The washcloth  : it measures 12x12 in.
Intended, guess ... to make his toilet and yes surprising is not it!

Hand towel: it measures 16x28in.
In the bathroom or in the toilets, this small size towel allows to dry the hands.

Hair towel: it measures 20x35in.
This is the standard size. Light, it is ideal to dry quickly or to take on a trip. Because of its small size, it is most often used for the face or hair.

Bath sheet: it measures 40x70in.
Intended for the exit of bath, the sheet of bath is a large soft and resistant towel which makes it possible to curl up as in a bathrobe.

Bath towel: it measures 28x56in.
As its name indicates it, it is dedicated to the exit of shower. More enveloping than the towel, it has the advantage of enveloping the whole body

Most of the time we will tell you to choose the size of your towel according to your size, but if you like to be wrapped, there is no need to choose a shower towel, treat yourself with a bath towel.
Finally, the size is more to take into account for your cherubs, to avoid making them trip on their bath train, but so much less fun to play Zorro!

How to take care of your bath linen?

No matter what material you choose, it's in the washing process that everything comes into play.
Of course, washing at 140°F will kill all bacteria, but also the fiber of your towels.
Prefer a 100°F wash, which is sufficient for daily use.

It is strongly recommended to wash your towels cold (85°F) before their first use.

Add a tablespoon of baking soda to your drum, it helps to deodorize, keep the fiber soft and fluffy by removing the remains of laundry residue.
If your laundry becomes cardboardy, it can be due to two factors: either too much detergent or a bad rinse.

A towel that smells bad while drying is a sign of odor-causing bacteria, which can happen if you have overloaded the drum. Water needs room to pass through to do its job properly.

Avoid fabric softeners and prefer white vinegar: one or two tablespoons in the fabric softener tray, your towels will be more than grateful.

If your laundry is white, percarbonate of soda is your ally: one to two tablespoons in the drum in addition to your detergent is enough.

Wash your clothes separately from the clothes, do not stuff the drum and add washing balls or tennis balls (the latter can leave lint and sometimes fade) for example to keep their swelling.

To dry the towels if you have a tumble dryer do not hesitate one second, if not in the open air that will also go especially if you opt for microfiber towels not to damage them in time.

For the ironing addicts, use the steamer of your iron but otherwise avoid ironing.

5.

How often should I wash?

If you wash every day, it is best to wash your towels every three days.

For those who wash every other day - and yes it is not always recommended to wash every day, especially if you have skin problems or if you have not done any physical activity or sweat very little, it is not necessary to wash every day without being dirty, so one wash per week is more than enough for your towels.

Be careful, washing every day is not necessary, but washing is required and this transition brings us to an important point, you must wash your washcloth after each use for hygiene reasons of course!

Bath linens now hold no secrets for you.
