Hygge! But what is it?
Pronounced "hougua" is a word that cannot be translated into English because this word of Danish and Norwegian origin includes several notions, intimacy, warm atmosphere and well-being...
L’art du cocooning.

The hygge is a state of mind where we create a cosy atmosphere in order to enjoy the beautiful and simple things in life with people we love. The glow of candles is completely hygge, discussing with family or close friends the little things in life is hygge.
It can be enjoyed in all seasons, during a picnic, a festival or a barbecue, everything is good to take. But the best season to practice the hygge is in winter of course. Candles, lights, big scarf and cozy plaids what could be more hygge.
When we know that the nights are long and the days short in winter in Denmark, we understand that hygge is certainly the key to happiness to make them the happiest people in the world.

By adopting this philosophy, you can face the winter much more serenely.
The hygge allows to strongly decrease the winter depression. Winter is no longer gloomy, but on the contrary the season of festivities, of cosy moments with the family. As in everything in life, it is our way of approaching things that makes us take pleasure. We create comforting, pleasant and convivial moments.
We do not try to hide the problems of life, but learn to take care of ourselves.
Everyone can enjoy a bubble bath in a spa atmosphere, a hot chocolate with marshmallow mimi by the fire, or a candlelight dinner. The difference with the Danes is that they make it a priority.
